Privacy Policy
Last updated August 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the Aether application (“Aether”) or visit the website where it is offered (the “Site”), how that information is handled, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to SatySat, the individual trading under that name, based in Mexico (“we”, “us”, “our”), as the party responsible for Aether and the Site.
In short: Aether runs entirely on your own computer and does not send us your files or settings; the Site uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking; and the only personal information we hold is the name and email address attached to your purchase, which our payment provider passes to us so that we can deliver your licence and support you.
1. Who is responsible for your information
SatySat is a sole individual, not a registered company, operating from Mexico. For the purposes of data-protection law, SatySat is the “data controller” / “responsible party” for the limited personal information described in this policy.
For payment information, our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, is the party responsible; see “Purchases and payment” below. You can contact us about privacy at hello@satysat.com.
2. The Aether application
Aether is a desktop program. When you run it, it reads the settings, preferences, presets, plugins, extensions, scripts, and related files of the supported Adobe applications installed on your computer, and it writes those items back during a restore. All of this processing happens locally, on your machine.
Aether does not upload, transmit, stream, or otherwise send your files, settings, or the contents of your backups to us or to anyone else. We cannot see them. We run no analytics on your files, and Aether does not include crash reporting, usage tracking, or telemetry.
The backup that Aether creates is an ordinary archive file saved wherever you choose. Its contents are yours and stay under your control. Anyone with access to that file can read what is in it, so store and transfer it as carefully as you would any other sensitive backup.
Licence validation
Aether may, now or in a future version, confirm your licence key before unlocking paid features. Where this happens, Aether contacts our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, and sends only your licence key and a basic identifier for the installation, so that activations can be counted against the seats you purchased. No information about your files, your projects, or the other software on your computer is included in that request.
At the time this policy was last updated, licence validation was not yet enabled and Aether made no network connections at all.
3. The website
The Site is a static informational website. It sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, advertising, session-recording, fingerprinting, social-media, or other third-party tracking scripts. Web fonts are served from the Site itself rather than fetched from a third-party font provider, so visiting the Site does not share your visit with one.
Like almost all websites, the Site is served by a hosting provider that may automatically record standard technical information in server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time. This is kept for security, debugging, and reliability. We do not use this information to identify you or to build a profile, and we do not combine it with your purchase information.
Do Not Track
Because the Site performs no tracking, there is nothing for a browser “Do Not Track” signal to switch off. We honour it by default, simply by not tracking anyone.
4. Purchases and payment
Aether is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. When you buy a licence, you provide your information directly to Lemon Squeezy, and Lemon Squeezy collects and processes the data needed to complete the sale. That typically means your name, email address, billing address, country, the payment-method details you enter, and transaction metadata such as your IP address for fraud prevention. Lemon Squeezy’s handling of that data is governed by the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
We never receive or store your full payment-card number or equivalent payment credentials. After a completed purchase, Lemon Squeezy provides us with a limited set of order information: your name, your email address, your country, the product and licence purchased, and the order identifier. We use this to deliver your licence, provide support, honour refunds, and keep the sales records we are required to keep.
5. Support and correspondence
If you email us, whether for support, a refund request, a multiseat quote, or anything else, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we keep that correspondence so that we can help you and refer back to it if you contact us again.
6. How we use information
We use the limited personal information we hold only to:
- deliver your licence key and give you access to Aether and its updates;
- provide customer support and respond to your messages;
- process and document refunds, and handle billing questions with Lemon Squeezy;
- keep accounting and tax records as required by law; and
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
No marketing
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not send marketing or newsletter email. We do not operate a mailing list. If that ever changes, it will be strictly opt-in, and this policy will be updated first.
7. When we share information
We share personal information only in these limited situations:
- with Lemon Squeezy, as our Merchant of Record and payment processor, as described above;
- with service providers that host the Site or help us operate it, strictly on our instructions and only as needed;
- if required by law, for example to comply with a valid legal request, or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim; and
- in connection with a transfer of the Aether product to a new owner, in which case we will require the recipient to honour this policy.
Never
We never share your information with data brokers or advertising networks.
8. International transfers
We are based in Mexico, and Lemon Squeezy operates internationally with infrastructure in the United States and elsewhere. Your information may therefore be processed in countries other than the one where you live, whose data-protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we and Lemon Squeezy rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Security
We keep the information we hold to a minimum, and we protect it with reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to its sensitivity and to the fact that it is limited to order and contact details. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Payment data is handled entirely within Lemon Squeezy’s systems.
10. Retention
We keep order and licence records for as long as needed to support you and for the period required by applicable accounting and tax rules, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Support correspondence is kept only for as long as it is useful for reference, and then deleted.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal information: to know what we hold and get a copy of it; to have it corrected; to have it deleted; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to data portability.
Under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), these are known as your “ARCO” rights (Access, Rectification, Cancellation, and Opposition), and you may also withdraw consent. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have equivalent rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; note that we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those laws define those terms.
To exercise any of these, email us at hello@satysat.com from the address associated with your purchase, and we will respond within the time your law requires. Requests that concern payment information should be directed to Lemon Squeezy as the party responsible for that data.
12. Children
Aether and the Site are intended for professionals and hobbyists working with Adobe software, and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note them on the Site. Changes take effect when posted.
14. Contact
For any question about this policy or your personal information, email hello@satysat.com.
